I am (Thunazzina/Thoma) a biology and chemistry tutor with seven years tutoring experience. I hold a PhD in Biochemistry from Royal Holloway, University of London. I also completed my Masters (Distinction) and Bsc (2:1) here too.
Currently, I am a strategy consultant that works with Ft500 companies to develop powerful learning experiences that change mindset, align teams and build capabilities.
I have successfully continued to tutor for six years and all students have achieved firm or insurance choice university places including medicine.
I specialise in tutoring A-Level biology and chemistry and have resources in most examination boards such as: OCR A&B, AQA, Edexcel and WJEC. During my doctorate I was a Brilliant Club tutor, in which I delivered university style tutorials to secondary schools on a weekly basis. I also mentored BSc project students and MSc students and have a wide range of experience of tutoring styles and techniques. I am happy to teach all abilities, from those that are struggling within the classroom to others that need tweaking in exam techniques. I believe that it is imperative to be patient as a teacher and for students to actually enjoy and be confident in their subjects so that they can reach their full potential.
Knowledgable
Patient
Adaptable
I have a strong understanding on how to effectively explain concepts utilising a variety of tools, in person and online (online white boarding etc). I have a collaborative approach to teaching, I do not lecture or bore students with slides, it is very important that students become confident in their ability where they can turn around and teach someone the topics!
