Thuy Nhi

I have a 2:1 in BSc Mathematics from the University of Exeter and have been a Private Maths Tutor for over six years. I am passionate about Maths and aim to share my enthusiasm and experience with my students.

Before being a Maths Tutor, I worked in Finance for 13 years as a fully qualified CIMA accountant. With my experience in industry, I help my students bring a Maths to life and it’s application in the real world.

I am an energetic, organised and results-orientated individual who enjoys helping my students reach their full potential. I am also very supportive, patient and empathetic and adjust my style of teaching accordingly to arrive at the best results.

Tutoring Experience

I have tutored at GCSE, A level and KS3 for over six years and have helped my students reach or exceed their target grade.

I have a thorough knowledge of all exam board requirements (Edexcel, AQA and OCR) and have developed material to tailor to the students needs.

I teach both face to face (at my house) or online via Zoom.

Tutoring Approach

My lessons are well prepared, interesting and are focussed on question practice. I explain concepts clearly and ensure that students thoroughly understand and can apply the theory. More importantly, I help my students revise topics thoroughly and use a wide variety of resources to achieve this. Throughout their time with me, my students grow more confident, gain more understanding and are prepared for the exams.

I have high expectations and believe that practice makes perfect. That said, I provide my students with homework which is marked and feedback given as to how they can improve. I work very hard with my students to address all areas of weakness ensuring that they are knowledgeable, focussed and prepared for the exams.
