Tiago was born in 2000 in Vizela, Portugal. He began his musical studies at the
age of 12 at the Academia de Música da Sociedade Filarmónica Vizelense, studying with Vânia Bajão, obtaining the maximum final marks and the 1st Prize of the 2nd Competition of the school. Later, in 2015, he joined Professional Art School of Vale do Ave - Artave, studying under José Ricardo Reis.
He has had masterclasses with Professors Suzanna Lidegran, Ani Schnarch,
Augusto Trindade and Arik Braude, Elina Vähälä and Corey Cerovsek.
During a number of orchestra assignments, he had the opportunity to work with numerous conductors, such as Luís Machado, Emílio de César, Christophe Millet, Octavio Más-Arocas, Peter Askim, Roberto Pérez, Pedro Andrade and Maxime Tortelier and with the soloists Paulo Gaio Lima, António Filipe Belijar, Tomás Jerez Munera , Luca Benucci, Venâncio Rius, Katia Veekmans-
Cieszkowski, Teresa Correia, Nuno Meira, Hélder Vales, Hugo Ribeiro, Luísa Marques, Lurdes Carneiro, Adolfo Gutiérrez, Elisabete Matos, Fumiaki Miura, Petru Iuga, Marcos Fregnani, Asya Fateyeva, Constantin Sandu, Jorge Moyano, among others.
He participated in the XVII and XVIII National Stages of the APROARTE
Orchestra, under the guidance of conductor Peter Askim. In October 2016, he joined the Zurich Youth Symphony Orchestra during a tour in various regions of Portugal under the direction of maestro David Bruchez-Lalli.
Tiago is currently finishing is 4th year (Bmus) at the Guildhall School of
Music and Drama studying with professor Krzysztof Smietana and Bartosz Woroch.
Tiago is passionate about violin teaching methodologies which enables him with knowledge and understanding to explore to the fullest about all different and charming qualities and difficulties of each student.
2016-2018- Junior teacher assistant at SFV (Symphony Philharmonic of Vizela)
2020- Workshop with Annabel Thwaite (Director of Core Courses and Junior Course Pro Corda) on chamber music pedagogy.

I tend to work not toward immediate perfection, but communication and deeper understanding. My guidance, while specific aims at leading a student to attain results on his or her own, acknowledging a student's achievements, never minimizing nor exaggerating them. I am not looking to fix problems but instead to awakening ideas.
