I am an experienced and enthusiastic, fully qualified Mathematics teacher based in Fulham. I am also an Expert Examiner for Pearson Edexcel. For the past nine years I have been teaching at one of the top performing state comprehensive schools in the South of England, rated Outstanding by Ofsted.
I studied at Oxford University where I achieved a First Class Degree in Metallurgy and Materials Science. After a successful 25 year career in Financial Services, I changed tack and completed a PGCE in Mathematics at the University of Chichester.
As I still work within a school and mark for Pearson Edexcel, I am fully up to date on current curriculum changes, particularly with regard to the 9-1 Mathematics GCSE content and the A-Level specifications. I have experience teaching a variety of students with a range of different abilities at KS3, GCSE and A-Level, achieving a 100% success record for all my students.
I prefer to tutor online as I tend to find online lessons are more efficient and flexible for everyone.
I am passionate about my subject, inspiring pupils to make excellent progress and achieve their full potential. My approach is to achieve understanding - the “lightbulb” moments - and to reinforce understanding through practise, helping my students develop confidence in the way they tackle mathematics. Every student is different and so I tailor my teaching style to suit their individual needs.
