Hi! I'm Tom, a current Chemical Engineering Undergrad at the University of Cambridge with a keen interest in talking about all topics STEM-y.
I love being challenged by students' questions and find explaining difficult concepts in graspable ways truly rewarding. I am friendly, approachable and invested in the students I teach.
I have tutored many students before with a variety of confidence levels between the age range of 11-18 (though am of course happy to teach those outside of this!).
I can teach any and all of Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry A Levels having taken them myself and passed with A*A*A*A*. I am also more than happy to talk about the Cambridge admissions process as well as Imperial having secured offers from both.
I make my sessions as engaging as possible by encouraging any and all questions!
After introductions I begin by getting a general sense of the level of confidence of my students. Then I focus on topics that provide the best balance of challenge as well as progress for the student. I am happy to set and mark work submitted by the student between sessions to further tackle difficult concepts.
I recommend session durations between 30 mins and an hour in duration to help keep focus.
