I only have availability for a very limited number of tutees due to my full time job as a GCSE lecturer and Program Lead

Tutoring Experience

As well as a wealth of experience 1-on-1 tutoring, I am Program Lead on the GCSE program at a Further Education college, having previously held posts as Curriculum Lead and Lecturer on similar programs. All these roles have been focused both teaching and creating resources

I have one-to-on in a range of subjects since the age of 18, ranging from year 3 students to retirees studying as a hobby

In addition, I have experience teaching in a multitude of different environments including primary schools, secondary schools, academies, Further Education colleges, vocational colleges and higher education. This has given me insight into a wide range of methods, meaning I can adapt to the needs of different students.

Tutoring Approach

As my role is focused on those who did not get the grades they wished for at school, my approach is built around the need to put students at ease, allowing them to enjoy the subject and have the confidence to explore topics. This is achieved in different ways with different students but I always strive to teach with a smile.

My research in education and memory has taught me that those students need to recap the topics covered in order for them to reach their long-term memory, so I always ensure my students are provided with both the resources and the skills to be able to build upon what we have covered between sessions.
