I am a self-employed musician and tutor from Norwich, Norfolk. I'm 36, picking up the sticks from age 11, with experience in a variety of bands spanning multiple genres, gigging across the country. This includes a 7 piece folk ensemble, a New Orleans style brass band as well as tribute acts covering White Snake, Thin Lizzy and 60s beat bands. Also, depping classic rock, funk, blues as well as performances based around improvisation.
Since completing a Diploma in Drum Performance at Drumtech, London, in 2007 I have been teaching on a one to one basis from beginner to advanced students privately as well as in schools including Parkside Community College, Cambridge, The Free School, Norwich, and currently Benjamin Britten Academy of Music and Mathematics in Lowestoft for 4+ years.
My priority is to help my students to explore their interest in the instrument and guide them towards the appropriate path to achieving their goals. Whether that be stylistic, improvisation, or a more academic approach leaning towards Trinity or Rock School grade exams. I provide work sheets of all material covered in each lesson for convenient home practice in the form of drum score. Rhythm and notation theory also provided.
