I’m a Politics & International Relations student at SOAS, University of London, with top GCSE grades (Grade 9 in English Language & Literature) and strong A-level results in History, Politics, and Law. I know first-hand how challenging GCSEs can be: in English, I struggled with consistent Grades 3 and 4 up until January of Year 11, but through structured practice, perseverance, and tailored strategies, I managed to secure Grade 9 in both English Language and Literature. This experience motivates me to help other students overcome their own hurdles and reach their potential.
I have previous tutoring experience, helping students improve in English, Maths, and Politics. For example, I’ve successfully supported learners who started at Grades 3 and 4 to reach Grades 5 and 7 through structured lessons, tailored practice, and confidence-building techniques.
Having been a Special Educational Needs (SEN) student myself, I understand the challenges that some learners face. This makes me patient, adaptable, and skilled at explaining concepts in multiple ways until they click. I focus on clear structure, encouragement, and building confidence, ensuring lessons are always at the student’s pace.
My teaching style is friendly, supportive, and interactive. I tailor every lesson to the student, using past papers, mark schemes, practical exercises, and real-life examples. Students often see improvement not only in their grades, but also in their understanding, confidence, and exam technique.
My goal: not just to improve grades, but to empower students to feel confident and capable in their learning journey. I’m passionate about tutoring because I love helping students overcome challenges and discover their own potential—just as I did myself.
