I am a warm, supportive & experienced teacher, and love helping students to grow in confidence and fulfil their potential, and improve their grades at GCSE/iGCSE. I have been doing private Maths and French tuition (with pupils in KS2, KS3 & KS4) for over 15 years, and I have helped many particularly anxious students and those lacking confidence in Maths. I also mark GCSE Maths exam papers for one of the exam boards.
Tutoring Experience
I have over 25 years’ experience, teaching in both secondary and primary schools. In recent years, I have been Head of Maths in 2 different special schools, teaching GCSE Maths to year 10s and 11s, and I am fully conversant with the Maths GCSE syllabus. I have also tutored for the local authority, supporting and teaching students (aged 7 - 16) who were not in school due to medical reasons.
In my private tuition, I have tutored many Year 11s (both face to face and online) preparing for their Maths GCSE or iGCSE, as well as Year 6 pupils preparing for their SATS.
Tutoring Approach
I offer bespoke tuition, tailored to students’ individual needs and learning style. I am a friendly, patient tutor, and my priority is to help students to feel at ease, enabling them to be most receptive to learning and making progress. I believe encouragement is vital in helping students to grow in confidence and fulfil their potential.
Please be aware that I am currently still doing all my tuition online. I use Zoom - and have done for over 6 years now - as it is very stable and has a good shared whiteboard.
