I will travel to small group sessions where groups have been arranged at a prepaid lower cost for the individual student of £20 (minimum group size is four).

Tutoring Experience

I have spent twenty years in mainstream, and independent colleges. Tutoring for five years. I work for the local authority and have led training across Leicestershire for teachers. I am in touch with all exam board material including AQA, Edexcel, CIE and OCR and have a very long list of professional, student and parent testimonials to support the work that I do.

Tutoring Approach

I have a very supportive approach to teaching and will work relentlessly to overcome obstacles that may be facing students. Trust and confidence needs to develop between student and tutor quickly. My vast experience with students of individual needs allows me to interpret what needs to be done for each student; a listening ear is paramount. Students need targets so that they can see their progress and build confidence. I will quickly find a students starting point and this allows me to adapt and personalise my style accordingly. I have high expectations and I will push to find your child's potential. How I achieve this will vary from student to student, but I will improve performance in science knowledge and skills. I will monitor performance and will set activities to check your child's progress and reinforce the work during tutoring sessions. Students describe me as approachable and supportive and I am always ready to respond at the end of a message should your child need some help at short notice. I offer Zoom sessions; these sessions are supported further as I provide presentations and notes via a password to access my online digital resources.
