Tricia

I am an experienced teacher who enjoys working with pupils of all ages and have been told I am an outstanding teacher. I quickly build up a rapport with pupils and work at their level. I am enthusiastic, warm and most of all patient.
I have been told by colleagues I am calm and patience in all situations.
I am empathetic and realise that some pupils are very anxious about engaging with a teacher when learning so I am always take this into consideration when planning for the individual needs of the pupil.

Tutoring Experience

I am a very well qualified and experienced teacher. I have been a Head of Special Needs for fourteen years and have additional qualifications in this area.
I have taught in primary, secondary, further education and private schools
I started my career as a History teacher in a London Secondary School. Then realised that I was interested in emotional, learning and physical difficulties. Then I embarked on re-training for two years as a SEND teacher.
I have taught pupils on a one to one basis and in small groups. I have tutored in study skills, literacy, life and social skills, English as well as emotional literacy. I have also taught History up to GCSE level as well as teaching English as a foreign language..
I am experienced in teaching children for entry exams in local private schools in New Malden, Wimbledon, Hampton and Kingston . I have taught the entrance examinations for most of the independent schools in the area such as Kingston Grammar School.

Tutoring Approach

I assess the pupils individual needs then plan each session around these in order to ensure that the pupil makes progress.
Learning should be fun not a chore.
I use a variety of resources including ICT and games.
