I am a Mechanical Engineer with first class degrees up to PhD level, from Lancaster and Loughborough Universities. I now work as an accountant, having completed my professional exams that would usually take 3-4 years in 18 months. I am very conscientious at everything I do, and even though private tuition is a side hustle, I do this only because I have a passion for tuition. To this end, excellence is what I try to give and also what I expect in results. Anything short of that is unsatisfactory and extremely depressing for me.
I have more than 20 years experience in Private tuition, Maths and Physics, although I have recently decided to focus on Maths only but at all levels up to University. Most of my students have always improved by 2 or 3 grades and I have more A and A* students than any other students. In the last 2 years, I have had a combined 3 students with B or C (which I consider bad performance) but this has been because of parents' reluctance to heed my requests to increase the number of required tuitions, or of students to dedicate more time to private study at home. ALL students and parents who cooperate would usually come back celebrating huge success because, tuition for me, is strictly to record success. Anything short of that is unsatisfactory and extremely depressing for me.
I am generally easy to work with and very approachable but when necessary, I can be quite firm. I do not like laziness so students that are hardworking enjoy the sessions. I make the lessons as down to earth as possible, so students don't feel the need to memorise. They generally understand and are encouraged to invest in private study otherwise they struggle to see results. We do not leave a topic until I am satisfied that they are at A* or A or the best level they can be, For me, the private tuitions are results-oriented and if that is not achieved, I feel I have failed.
My preference is face-to-face but I understand that some students may live too far away from Milton Keynes to attend tuition. I will agree to online tuition for those students.
