I am an experienced primary school teacher who loves to engage children in the joy of learning.
When I'm not tutoring. I work for the University of Brighton to support trainee teachers on the teaching placements. This keeps me up to date with current educational research which I can apply to my teaching.
I enjoy helping children build confidence and learn to love maths. Maths should be fun!
I've been teaching in Primary schools for 20 years including the last 7 years at an Ofsted rated 'outstanding' school in Hove. I have taught from Reception to Year 6.
I have many years of experience supporting children successfully through SATs.
I support children by identifying gaps in knowledge, skills and understanding then planning sessions according to their needs. I use practical resources and visual models to support small learning steps towards learning objectives. Once mathematical skills have been mastered, I teach children how to apply this skills to solving problems.
