I'm a native Russian speaker from Moscow. I've been living in the UK for over 25 years. I hold Degree in Economics from Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. Since the birth of my son, who I wanted to be bilingual, I decided to pursue a different career and started to teach Russian and English as a Foreign Language.
I've been teaching Russian as a Foreign Language since 2007. I work with people of different ages, abilities and background. I teach 1-2-1 students and groups. I prepare students for GCSE exams and A-levels and also teach Russian for casual learners, including children.
My approach is centred around a student and their goals. I use latest materials and resources to help my students to achieve their best. My lessons are interactive (with language games), engaging and tailor-made. Depending on your aim, the lessons can be focused on specific areas or built as a language course of different levels. My Beginner students can start reading Russian and speak basic phrases after a few lessons. This builds their confidence to progress further with their studies. With my Intermediate and Advanced students I use a lot authentic and current material, including articles, songs and videos. I also work with children of Russian heritage. I feel passionate about children speaking their parents' language and knowing Russian culture. I've been through all the stages of bilingual education with my son, who is now taking his A-Level exam in Russian.
