Tutoring Experience

My main interest and expertise is in Philosophy - Being an A-Level philosophy teacher, I have a detailed knowledge of the subject, and I'm aware how hard it can be to grasp. But it's also a fascinating subject, and very rewarding to study on a personal level. My students tell me that the philosophy A-level changes them as people - changes the way they think, and the way they behave, for the better.
I've also been a German teacher, and taught French at KS3 during my teacher training.

Tutoring Approach

Tutoring is a great medium to learn in, especially philosophy. Working one-on-one with a student, the tutor gets the chance to tailor their teaching completely to the student. From my experience as a teacher, I know just how much more effective it is to work one-on-one with a student, in comparison to teaching students as a whole class. It can take two minutes to clear up a misconception that otherwise could have held the student back for months. My tutoring will be adjusted to your exact level, avoiding that awful thing that can happen in the classroom where the discussion moves to quickly for you, and you cannot benefit from the teaching.
