I live in Faversham with my husband. My two adult children live in London. I spent a year in Rouen back in my student days and I now love going to France whenever I can as I love the food, culture and the people. As a teacher I try to communicate my love of all things French to my students and run a weekly French club.
I have taught French for 36 years to students in various areas of the country and of all levels of ability. I have mainly taught children at secondary level but have also spent a few years teaching in middle schools so have some experience with younger students also. I am also passionate about Classical Civilisation and as well as studying it at Exeter University along with French I have taught ancient history to GCSE and A level.
I like those I teach to feel relaxed and confident. I use praise to motivate. Humour is also a key part of my teaching toolkit as I believe that this in particular can help young people to relax and enjoy their learning and motivate them to do their very best.
