Wendy was amazing! We could not ask for a better Psychology A Level tutor. She listened to myself and my daughter about what we needed and she tailored the lessons accordingly. This is what my daughter said:
"I liked how Wendy carried out the lessons", I liked that she she asked live practice questions", "And at first gave hints and then with time gave less". In year 13 my daughter got D for her mock exams. I contacted Wendy and she worked wonders. It was lovely to see how my daughter gained confidence. She got B for her exams and is now studying Environmental Biology.

Wendy has been excellent helping with Alevel revision and going through tricky parts of the syllabus. She is an excellent tutor and inspires confidence which has really helped. Highly recommend her. Thank you Wendy !

Wendy, as promised, visited the house on the first visit and then we went remote learning. She has great knowledge and exam experience.

She asked to be paied in advance (350 pounds for 5 lessons). She cancelled the first scheduled lesson, she proposed to do the second lesson on whatsapp and when finally we met for the first lesson we realized that she was not the right tutor because she doesnt teach literature. We would pay only the lesson done (100 pounds) instead she added administration costs (50 pounds) plus the cost for books that we have not received.

Wendy helped my cousin getting started on her journey to increase her level of English (FCE) and her feedback was very much appreciated. Although we changed to a language school after a few lessons, I can highly recommend Wendy. We had both face to face and virtual sessions, which worked very well.

Wendy has been an excellent support for my daughter who is studying Psychology at A’ Level. She has motivated her to work consistently and boosted her confidence enormously both in terms of knowledge and exam technique. Thanks Wendy

My son has been having gcse psycology lessons every week with Wendy as he will be re taking his gcses in November 2020 to get his grades up!
Due to covid was unable to take exams and was predicted a 3 when needed a 6 or above so I decided to look for a tutor and I came across wendy
Well what can I say… Wendy is amazing my son has learnt so much in the space of 3 weeks then what he did at school in 2 years!

I should probably do more past questions but I don't think I do enough private study (time for a New Year's resolution!) and you have said that you would be happy to feedback on questions: I think I do better when you specify questions to do! I enjoy the videos that you suggest and particularly like discussions.

Wendy was friendly, personable and very easy to get along with. At the beginning of the year my daughter's highest grade in psychology was D, but with Wendy's help she achieved a high B in the final exam. Due to Wendy my daughter felt confident going into the exam room and therefore Results Day was a lot calmer than it might have been!

Wendy was also very flexible around how to tutor my daughter, and on a number of occasions they arranged a Skype call instead of meeting up. My daughter found this was very helpful and it worked well especially in the final few weeks leading up to the exam.

We would highly recommend Wendy for Psychology tutoring, and we would like to thank her for all her help.

Wendy has had an incredibly positive effect on our son. He now adores English, it is his favourite subject. He carries out creative writing and English exercises without being reminded and dare I say it for pleasure. Wendy has built our son’s confidence and self believe to such an extent that he enjoys doing his homework and looks forward to his lessons. His written work has improved across all his subjects and he is not worried about his upcoming exams. So I can recommend Wendy without hesitation. She brings out the best in a calm and friendly way. This feeds across other areas of learning and encourages a strong feeling of self belief counteracting our son’s previous negative feelings to the study English.

My son needed help in GCSE English as he wanted to improve his grade from 7 to 9. Wendy has helped him so much in improving his writing skill in a short period of time. She is very experienced and she was able to pickup my sons weaknesses very quickly. My son is more confident in taking his exam and it’s due to her valuable lessons.

We have just done trial session. So far good!

My daughter is very happy with every English lessons taught by Wendy. This is a professional teacher with extensive work experience. I see my daughter's great progress in English. I'm very recommend Wendy, who wants to raise the level of knowledge of your child.

We had one lesson with Wendy. I think it was fine. I requested a feed back from Wendy and i was told that she had given a feed back to my son. I would have prefered a bit more communication than that.

I would not receommebd Wendy. We booked her for some urgent English GCSE revision sessions close to the exams. She was late for all 3 sessions, leaving the final one after only 20 minutes (still charging me for half).

I am unable to give a proper / true rating because we only had Wendy for one session. After a subsequent bereavement in her family, Wendy was unable to travel to us. We were offered online tuition but my husband and I felt our son needed one- to -one interaction to help him prepare for his GCSE English exam in June '18. He struggles academically and responds better with actual tutor interaction.

With the first lesson only, I was extremely pleased with her teaching and her technique. I strongly wanted to continue. However 2 days later, she messaged me at 4 in the morning saying she was unable to tutor anymore permanently! because of a personal circumstance. But what shocks me, is that she still available to tutor on her profile.In my opinion she has too much on but this doesn’t give her the right to take more people on when she can’t be committed. Its very sad as it is such a crucial time in the GCSEs . Now I will have to look for another tutor which is extremely annoying in itself. I had to pay for her release fees, tuition fees and her travel costs. Its ridiculous.

My 11 year old son has blossomed under Wendy's tutoring. Wendy has a very calm gentle manner, she is encouraging, patient and shows an interest while remaining professional. In the 3 months Wendy has tutored my son for his 11+ exams his confidence has grown and he approaches his work in a much more mature manner. Wendy has managed to unlock the potential we knew was there and we would highly recommend her.

Wendy is currently helping my daughter with her A2 Psychology studies and I'm so glad we found her. She is approachable and clearly very knowledgeable. She is reliable and teaches over Skype which is more cost-effective. I am sure her tuition will make a difference to my daughter's grade come June!

We moved to the UK halfway through my daughter’s A levels causing so much disruption to her studies and life. I was at my wit’s end trying to find some continuity in her education and then we found Wendy! She has been a god send ; instilling confidence in Isabel who has now taken such a liking to Psycholoy that she has applied to University to start a Bsc in the subject. In the short time that we have known Wendy, she has proved to be the best psychology teacher my daughter has ever had. Her teaching method makes learning fun and Isabel looks forward to her sessions with Wendy each week. We do upto 4 classes (a mix of Skype and face to face) In short, Wendy is the kind of teacher every student should have. Straightforward, firm yet kind and all this while making a lesson interesting. Isabel is now predicted an A in psychology and while she is a hard working girl, most of the credit goes to Wendy who has set her on the right path to success.

After contacting Wendy she was quick to identify our needs and get materials and regular appointments lined up quickly. My daughter is now very excited about studying psychology with her support and enthusiasm for the subject.

Wendy really helped my son with his A Level Psychology. He was very low on confidence having done badly in his mocks and having lost his teacher at an awkward time in the year. Wendy arrived and helped him to get organised, get a grip on the subject and most importantly made him realise he could do well. She is a natural teacher, especially for teens, she explained things well and really got him thinking. Most importantly she restored his confidence in his own ability. I am so grateful to her, as I think her help probably upped his mark by at least two grades - all in a very short time. I can't recommend Wendy highly enough.

I had Wendy as my A level psychology tutor from February right up to my June exams. Wendy was extremely patient and explained things fully whilst providing really helpful exam questions and resources. Because I had Wendy as my tutor I was able to be more confident in how I approach and answer essay style questions which in turn raised my A level grade from an E to an overall grade of a B. thank you Wendy!

Although we didn't continue with Wendy as my daughter has decided on a different study course, she was professional, reliable and Ruby enjoyed her lesson.

My daughter achieved an A* in Pyschology this year having had a very poor teaching experience and lack of preparation at school. She felt unconfident with the course in year 13 even though she had done very well in year 12. Wendy was able to support her and help her regain her confidence. She provided excellent study materials and really listened to what my daughter needed. Wendy has a lovely manner and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her as a tutor.

Elsa only studied with Wendy for a short while but Wendy had an excellent pragmatic approach to meet Elsa's needs. Wendy also went out of her way to give some very good advice about the best ways for Elsa to learn

Despite numerous attempts to arrange a lesson, three and a half weeks later, after several cancellations, Wendy has failed to respond to me at all. Very disappointing.

Wendy has helped my high functioning autistic daughter achieve an A grade in her speaking and listening exam this year. She has done a tremendous job at boosting my year 11 daughter's confidence and turn a D grade English mock result into an A grade mock result. Fingers crossed when the final exams come in Nov and Summer 2016 she will get an A/B. Wendy is professional, kind, patient and nurturing. She has boosted my daughter's confidence three fold and my daughter is delighted to be doing so well in English since Wendy's one to one tutoring. Her experience speaks volumes and she was maintained an excellent standard of teaching. The level of service Wendy provides is of 5 star quality, providing training material and always at hand if my daughter needs help. Thank you so much Wendy for the help you have given my family.

I would highly reccomend Wendy as a tutor, she has a very friendly approach with her students. I contacted Wendy just a couple of weeks before my son was due to sit his GCSE English exams at a point of crises. Wendy arrived and restored order and calm into his revision and in the few sessions they had together covered what he needed to get a grade that I thought was beyond him. I have no doubt that one of the most important things Wendy did was encourage his self confidence and give him hope that it was possible to pass if he followed her advice. After failing his English GCSE at school my son has now passed with a high pass mark following some intensive revision sessions with Wendy. Clear direction on exam technique made a huge difference.

Sorry for giving the feedback so late, Wendy is a great English tutor who knows lots of exam skills and helped my son achieved A and B in his GCSE English exams after he had only C and D in his mock exams. Really recommended.

Thank you Wendy, you are just what we were looking for. You've quickly developed a good working relationship with our 14 year old daughter and she is now increasing in confidence after every lesson, something we had identified as holding her back. She now looks set to achieve excellent marks in her GCSE English exams and I'm sure other subjects will benefit too.

Wendy provided a short burst of tutoring, at some inconvenience to herself, just ahead of our daughter's English GCSE. Wendy used the short time available very effectively, and our daughter went into the exams much more confident than she would otherwise have been.

Edit: Laura got a grade C, which was a big success for her, and said that Wendy's tutoring was key to her achievement.

I was very disappointed that it was only after I purchased Wendy's details that I was told that she does not have a car and it would take her 2.5 hours to travel on public transport even though her original profile stated she teaches at students houses and her location was only 9 miles away. Wendy did offer a compromise to meet at a public library but her times we not convenient. I would not have selected her details if I had known about her travel problems.

I was very fortunate and found an excellent tutor for my son who went on to do extremely well in his AS level Psychology. Wendy is a very professional tutor who helped him to study hard and well for those important exams and was also able to help him understand the subject better where needed. A big thank you!

Wendy was my daughters tutor only for 4 sessions. Unfortunately due to her transport issues it was not practical for her to continue tutoring my daughter. Her tutoring was of a good standard which is a shame as I am finding it difficult to find another tutor.

Wendy worked closely with our son in the lead up to his GCSE. She was able to improve his grade to a pass when his prediction was to fail which enabled him to go on to commence his A levels with more confidence. Wendy is now working with our son on his A level psychology. Wendy's great strengths are her knowledge of the cirriculum and the expectation of each exam boards. She taught exam techniques to our son, reviewed his work submitted at school to point our where he could improve. She has a great style and keep our son very engaged in a subject he was not enthuastic about and got him to the point where he was enjoyed the work. Quite a turn around.

After an initial meeting it was clear that Wendy would not be able to tutor our children. Our location and lack of close public transport plus Wendy's family commitments made agreeing on a timetable impossible.

It's early days but here's the difference Wendy is already making for us: our school journey has been up and down: our son is a very reluctant reader, loves sports mostly but also maths and science and is feeling a little lost in a large year 6 class; we can see that his potential, still largely untapped is causing him to feel frustrated and under estimated.
When Wendy first came, he was very reluctant and even now will try to charm his way out of working BUT after our 'Mary Poppins' has left, he often sings, dances and bounces his way around the house because he feels good… He will of course deny its anything to do with working, but his self esteem goes up. This is one of our reasons for
looking for a tutor. We are buying, authority (he is compliant!), personal one to one teaching tailor made for him and confidence.
Wendy is intuitive and flexible, fun but also purposeful like Mary Poppins! Of course this may not suit you if you are 'Mr Banks' and like life and children to be very orderly and in an unchanging routine. However, I personally like Wendy's way of working and she is helping not only our son but also us as a family work together for our sons benefit. I can speak honestly with her and she with me.
The one thing that stops me giving Wendy 5 stars is time-keeping but that is often due to Southern Rail and other random issues. Other than that she may be described as being "practically perfect in every way"!

Wendy helped our daughter progress in a short time with English Language and English Literature.

Our daughter is diagnosed with dyslexia and as a result started to fall behind in class, becoming very apprehensive about the subjects. Wendy gave Rosie the confidence and passion to take the exams over a short period of time.

Wendy is professional, dedicated and extremely committed as well as being lovely to have in the house.

we were looking forward to meeting her to tutor my son however she cancelled the arrangement more than twice. we feel like she is too busy and does not have enough time

Overall rating is average, Quality of tuition was good, but I am afraid to say that it lacked commitment, as during short space of time I had last minute cancellations by the tutor, which meant that i was losing out so i had to stop using Wendy. These last minute cancellations or coming late were frustrating. I wish she would give more commitment towards her students. I only had 2 lessons but ended up paying to First Tutors for buying her contact details. so overall very disappointing and waste of money.

I can highly recommend Wendy.
We asked her at very short notice to help my daughter with a retake who was disillusioned with poor teaching and the resulting poor grades. With a weeks personal tuition Wendy helped my daughter improve by 2 grades which will make a difference to her prospects of getting into a good university.
Wendy is passionate about helping her students and is passionate about her subject. Wendy works flexibly and we have settled into regular and productive Skype sessions.

Wendy has been teaching my son for only a couple of weeks but I've immediately been impressed with her enthusiasm, knowledge of her subject and he's engaged very quickly with her. I'm sure she will have a positive effect on his confidence and ultimately his grades.

My daughter (Year 9) has been having weekly English lessons with Wendy for a few months now. English is harder to see the results of tutoring than some other subjects but we can see the improved quality in her written work and techniques, The biggest improvement we have seen relates to the confidence in our daughter regarding her english skills, which has been brought about by the good relationship they have formed.

We are extremely pleased with Wendy. Shania has only had three times with Wendy at her home and the progress she has made in both her attitude and confidence has been extremely beneficial to both her school work and how she relates to the homework and her understanding of what she needs to do. Wendy is a very pleasant women and has bonded with Shania very quickly and we would have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone else worried about their child and their abilities. Wendy is an outstanding tutor. I would have no hesitation in recommending her. She is enthusiastic about the subject and always goes beyond the call of duty with her lessons and planning towards the exam. She has given my son back the confidence that he lost at 6th form college and made him believe he could not only re-sit his English A-Level but possibly go on to University in the future.

I found Wendy to be a very helpful, polite and excellent Teacher and my son took to Wendy immediately. Unfortunately Wendy could not comit to a fixed day each week and with work commitments I found this aspect disappointing. I would deffinately recommend Wendy if you are in a position to be more flexible and don't need a fixed day each week.

Wendy has been very reliable and already built a good relationship with Megan in a short time. Even in recent bad weather she offered to E Mail work to us when she was unable to travel to us. We look forward to continuing to work with her.

James really enjoys his lessons with Wendy because the learning is very relaxed and fun, but effective. Wendy creates a really friendly environment which enables James to want to learn. A great tutor!

It is still early days but Aimee is very happy to come for her lessons, she has warmed to your friendly approach and tells me it is making a difference to her learning.

Our daughter is really enjoying her time with Wendy and is feeling more confident about her maths

Wendy was lovely to meet and we were looking forward to working with her but sadly she does not have the availability we need over the next three months, so Wendy has said she is not available. Wendy is also not available to drive to the tutees home.

Wendy is an excellent tutor. She somehow manages to imbue an air of calmness that focuses and relaxes the child. Our children work more efficiently and with complete willingness.

Wendy has introduced our children to concepts and methods that they enjoy using.

So far so good! Obviously it is still early days but I am very happy with the relationship you've already established with Eleanor. She has warmed to your friendly, sympathetic approach and I am sure that with your help we will see an improvement in the standard of her work and in her confidence once we resume lessons. Excellent tutor who is very able to meet the individual needs of the Young Person. L has produced excellent work far beyond what she thought she was capable of since having individual tuition. Wendy is adaptable and flexible and provides a high quality service. She is highly recommended.
