My name is Yeliz, and I am a dedicated and experienced teacher specialising in Special Educational Needs, with particular expertise in Autism and Language Delay. With over 18+ years of hands-on experience in both school and home settings, I offer a compassionate, evidence-based approach tailored to each child’s unique needs.
I settled in England in 2000 and pursued my education here, completing my GCSEs and Level 3 studies before earning a BSc in Psychology. In 2009, I qualified as a teacher through a PGCE programme. More recently, in 2022, I completed an MSc in Child and Adolescent Mental Health, deepening my theoretical understanding and reinforcing my practical experience.
Currently, I work as an outreach teacher for a local council, supporting vulnerable children and young people with diverse needs. Alongside this, I offer private tuition for children with Autism and co-occurring neurodevelopmental conditions. My work is driven by a deep commitment to each child’s progress and well-being.
Having navigated my own educational journey as a learner and educator, I aim to inspire the same resilience and passion in the children I work with. I am proud to collaborate closely with families, placing their children’s needs at the heart of everything I do.
I am a qualified teacher of Health and Social Care and Psychology with over 18+ years of experience specialising in Special Educational Needs, particularly Autism and associated neurodevelopmental conditions. I gained my PGCE in 2009 and have worked across a variety of educational and care settings since then.
Between 2012 and 2014, I trained as an Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) Tutor through a highly regarded ABA school's training programme. Since then, I have continued to work with children and young people with Autism—both in a public outreach role for a local council and as a private SEN tutor. I often incorporate ABA strategies into my work while combining other approaches that consider the emotional, cognitive, and developmental needs of each learner.
In 2022, I completed an MSc in Child and Adolescent Mental Health, further enhancing my understanding of the psychological foundations behind learning, behaviour, and mental well-being. I regularly plan and deliver tailored learning programmes for students with Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and anxiety-related conditions—ensuring each child benefits from a structured, empathetic, and adaptable approach.
My teaching experience spans school settings, family homes, youth centres, and care environments, allowing me to respond effectively to diverse needs and make the best use of available spaces and resources. This has helped me develop into a confident, flexible educator who thrives in varied and dynamic settings.
While I currently work full-time, I am available to take on a small number of private students during evenings, weekends, and school holidays. This work allows me to continue expanding my practice while supporting families and learners with high-quality, individualised teaching.
Teaching Approach
I am a committed and compassionate teacher who is passionate about removing barriers to learning and helping every student reach their full potential. I believe that understanding how each individual learns best is key to unlocking progress, especially for learners with additional needs.
Every pupil is unique, and I take great care to reflect this in the resources I prepare and the strategies I use. My lessons are thoughtfully planned, flexible, and responsive to each child's emotional and developmental needs.
Mutual respect, honesty, and a responsible, empathetic attitude are at the heart of my teaching. I strive to create a safe, trusting environment where students feel supported and empowered to learn at their own pace.
