I have a strong Maths background through my studies at university, my 10 years as a professional in the financial services industry and in the education sector. I make teaching enjoyable and interesting, encouraging the student to learn more effectively.
As a British born Chinese I can communicate in Cantonese as well as English.

Tutoring Experience

I have tutored students as a volunteer support worker at two colleges in the last two years on a one-to-one basis and to a small group.
I have also helped my nephew succeed with his 11+ exams, enabling him to pass the entrance criteria to Reading Grammar School.
My City & Guilds 7320 Level 2 in “Preparing to Support Learning” was completed in January 2013.
I’m fully CRB checked.

Tutoring Approach

Tutoring is about being able to explain a concept clearly and simply so that the student understands and also for the student to have the willingness and ability to learn and succeed. I am patient, a good listener and have a positive attitude to help the student thrive in order to reach their goal. I encourage a two way feedback between tutor and student to achieve the best outcome for the student.
