Yuchen

I am an Oxford graduate with five years of tutoring experience. I help with humanities subjects, improving students' skills of analysis, essay-writing, and approach to sources, so they can meet the challenges of the classroom and the exam environment. Having been through the Oxford admissions process which included submitting written work, sitting an entrance test and interviews, I am also in a strong position to help with applications, entrance exams, coursework and portfolios.

Tutoring Experience

My experience ranges from tutoring English and History at 11+, 13+, GCSE, and A-level, to conducting mock interviews for Oxbridge applicants with the company UniAdmissions. I have also supported international students with essay-writing at MA level, and worked with groups of younger children aged 10+ as Head Server at St Catherine's Church in Penrith, for 7 years. Last year, as a content writer for the online teaching platform CleverClogs, I created English language practice questions for Years 4, 5, and 6.

Tutoring Approach

I believe in every student's ability to learn and achieve, and I strive to help them overcome the difficulties that might be hindering it from flourishing. Whether it's a booster session on how to write extended answers, or repeated sessions to help with comprehension and course coverage, I will always provide these with positivity and friendliness!
