I’m Yusra a compassionate and dedicated professional with hands-on experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) through my work with organisations like BeyondAutism and Teaching Personnel. I bring a patient, adaptive, and student-centred approach to tutoring, tailoring each session to the individual’s learning style, pace, and emotional needs. My background in ABA therapy and education support has strengthened my ability to break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps while building trust and confidence in every learner. I’m passionate about helping SEN students thrive both academically and personally, whether in person or online.

Tutoring Experience

I have several years of hands-on experience working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs through roles at BeyondAutism, Innovative Pod, Teaching Personnel, and Nurseplus. During this time, I’ve supported students with a wide range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and behavioural challenges. My work has involved one-to-one support, ABA-based interventions, and adapting learning materials to meet individual education plans (IEPs). I’ve developed strong skills in building rapport, managing challenging behaviours, and creating engaging, structured learning environments that promote progress and self-confidence. This experience has shaped my calm, compassionate, and flexible approach to tutoring.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is student-centred, flexible, and grounded in empathy. I take time to understand each learner’s unique needs, strengths, and challenges, and I tailor my teaching style accordingly. For SEN students, I prioritise consistency, clear structure, and breaking down tasks into manageable steps. I use visual aids, positive reinforcement, and interactive activities to keep lessons engaging and accessible. Building trust is central to my method—I create a calm, supportive space where students feel safe to make mistakes, ask questions, and develop confidence at their own pace. My goal is to help every student make meaningful progress, both academically and personally.
