Personal Description:
I have been teaching music to children and adults for over 25 years, helping students of all ages enjoy learning an instrument and developing their musical skills.
My training began at the world-renowned Kodály School in Kecskemét, Hungary, where I studied Flute, Piano, and Chamber Music, before completing my Bachelor’s Degree at the Liszt Ferenc Music College in Pécs.
Since the age of nine, I have been an active performer, playing with youth and professional ensembles across Europe and the UK. These include a touring Youth Wind Band, a Youth Orchestra in Turkey, and orchestras in the UK such as the Salomon Orchestra, Chelsea Opera Group, and Haydn Chamber Orchestra.
As both a performer and teacher, I am passionate about classical music and enjoy showing students how rewarding it can be to play—whether individually, in chamber groups, or as part of a full orchestra.
Tutoring Experience:
Since moving to the UK in 1995, I have taught many pupils who have developed strong skills and a real love for their instrument. I always aim to make lessons enjoyable and inspiring, as I believe that learning in a positive and supportive atmosphere helps students make the best progress.
My pupils have consistently achieved excellent exam results and gained confidence as musicians at every stage of their journey. I have experience teaching both individuals and groups, and I am very happy to work with small groups of friends who would like to learn together.
Alongside teaching, I am a trustee of the Oxford Flute Summer School Bursary and the founder of the Bicester Flutopia Flute Choir, which brings players of all ages together to enjoy making music in a friendly ensemble.
Tutoring Approach:
I aim to maintain a relaxed yet focused approach in my lessons, as I believe students make the best progress when learning is both enjoyable and purposeful.
My goal is to support each pupil in reaching the level of knowledge and skill they aspire to. I encourage progress through the styles of music that most inspire them—whether classical, jazz, light music, or a blend of genres—so their learning remains both engaging and meaningful.
I place equal emphasis on developing musical expression and solid technical skills, ensuring a well-rounded foundation for every student.
