I no longer have space - I will be taking on students from January 2025. Please contact me to be added to my waitlist. Occasionally spaces do come up before this time
I am an experienced tutor who specialises in 11+ and GCSE preparation and project-based homeschooling, delivering the highest quality of one-to-one support. My enthusiasm and drive allows my students to view me not only as their subject tutor, but as a role model, friend and ultimately someone who will take a genuine interest in their learning. I currently teach at an independent boys' school in London. I grew up in London, and have a passion for the arts, sciences and travel.
I find that parents play a key role in the support structure of any child, and therefore I like to include them as much as they feel they can, to ensure the best possible outcome. I create a tailored programme for each student, in which progress is monitored to allow parents to be a part of the tuition process. I do this with care, compassion and positivity, and take pride in catering for individual student needs.
Most lessons are a hybrid of online and in person; I come to you for an initial visit, and aim to do one session per half term in person, but all other lessons are online. I have external cameras and a range of equipment to make this a smooth and easy learning process.
I cover preparation for the Grammar Schools in South / East / West London and only cover maths & Nvr. Please note these schools are highly competitive and I advise starting tutoring in year 4 to avoid last-minute cramming.
I have completed the following CPD courses:
I no longer have any space for regular sessions. The next available slots will be Easter 2024. If you’d like to have occasional lessons and be on the waitlist for Easter, please contact me.
I have tutored over 400 students in the past 12 years, in a mixture of ages and abilities. Each year brings fantastic results and I am yet to have a student dissatisfied with their progress. I do not provide 'quantitative' evidence of my tutoring success, as I don't believe this reflects the full extent of my work; each student has their own goal and individual potential, whether it be to reach a pass or a 90%+ score.
I also run half-term and holiday courses which are usually taken in groups of 4 or 5 and are always popular. These also work out cheaper for everyone and work well in groups of friends.
I hold a full clean enhanced DBS check, and am an approved member of the Tutors' Association. I have also been interviewed by various magazines on the life of a modern-day tutor.
Many parents wonder how I may differ from other tutors; this is a mixture of a flexible and friendly personality, empathy, humour and a good dose of reality! I am not a teacher who tutors on the side, and have been a tutor as a sole career for 12 years, meaning my experience is based on one-to-one experience rather than classroom teaching. This means I don't have a one-size-fits-all approach. I have a work phone and dedicated WhatsApp where I communicate with parents and students (secondary only) in groups and individually to help with homework and check in throughout the week. This is all done free of charge and is part of the overall service I provide.
I have experience with special needs, and completed courses with the British Dyslexia Association including dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and dysgraphia.
I have a 48-hour cancellation policy, and a one-month discontinuation policy either side if tuition is terminated.
When messaging me, please include your ideal availability, confirmation of my fees as listed on this page, confirmation of my cancellation policy and as many details as possible about the situation. I offer a refund of my 'finder's fee' if you are dissatisfied with my tutoring at any point.
