Ellie

Hello, my name is Ellie, I live in the Wandsworth/Putney area and currently teach Chemistry at the top independent school in London. I attended a leading research university and achieved a BSc in Chemistry with honors. I grew up in Wimbledon where I completed my secondary education and A Levels.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught Chemistry at all key stages for the last five years, successfully guiding exam classes through to the completion of their GCSEs and A Levels, with many students securing places at top universities, including Oxford and Cambridge. I also have experience teaching Biology and Physics across various levels. In addition to my classroom teaching, I have over 10 years of tutoring experience in all three sciences, beginning in 2015 during my time at university. My tutees have consistently exceeded expectations, achieving either A/A* grades, even after being initially predicted lower grades including Cs. I am an experienced teacher and tutor, I know what it takes to get an A* in this subject and I am confident when it comes to guiding my students in the right direction.

Tutoring Approach

I developed a love for science from a young age and later discovered that my true passion lies in Chemistry. I strive to bring this enthusiasm into my teaching by creating engaging, thought-provoking lessons that encourage students to exceed their potential. As an experienced and fully qualified teacher, I understand the importance of strong pedagogy and inquiry-based learning, I bring deep curriculum knowledge, exam expertise, and effective teaching strategies that make a real difference, this is what sets my tutoring apart. This level of understanding is essential for achieving top grades in a subject like Chemistry.

My goal is to motivate students to embrace the challenges of Chemistry with confidence and to support them in becoming strong, independent learners, setting them up for success in higher education.
