Liam

I am currently teaching in Year 5 in a Junior School. I have taught across all year groups within the primary age range. On a daily basis, I notice that some children could be more successful with a little more focused help. I have therefore considered offering extra tuition to support children who need a little extra help outside of school. I cover all areas of the primary curriculum and I am happy to discuss varying approaches based on the need of the child I am tutoring.

Tutoring Experience

I am currently in my tenth year of teaching and have experience in years all year groups. I have a good knowledge of assessment through the use of different formats including regular tests and ongoing teacher assessments. Since being in my role, I have taught a variety of topics and contributed to the wider ethos of the school. In my first three years of teaching, I was the Foreign Languages leader for the school and held a successful trip to Spain and a fantastic International week celebrating a range of different languages and cultures from around the world. In my previous role, I was the computing lead. Whilst in role, I made changes to the curriculum covered and took the lead on computing for the whole school. In addition, I was the leader of the Year 6 residential trip, which provided some amazing opportunities for the children. In my current role, I am responsible for leading reading across the curriculum. As it is a core subject, I take a proactive role in being an advocate for the subject leading by example to the children and colleagues.
I enjoy teaching the wide range of subjects in our curriculum and take pride in imparting knowledge through private tuition.

Tutoring Approach

I will provide resources for the tutoring sessions and would ideally aim to tutor children between years' 1-6 (ages 5–11).
I will spend a short time at the end of each session feeding back to parents or carers so they are aware of what I have covered and any areas where they are able to help alongside the tuition.
