I have over 23 years experience of teaching A level Economics to 16 to 18 year old students in a sixth form college setting in the Manchester area. I am 50 years old and am married with two children aged 17 and 19. I teach from my home but I am also willing to travel if this is more convenient.
I have extensive experience of delivering both Business Studies and Economics. I have taught many students from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds who have subsequently gained places at 'Russell Group' universities including Oxford, Cambridge and LSE. I am very familiar with the OCR, AQA and EDEXCEL specifications as well as pre-U offered by some private schools. I have also tutored Economics at GCSE.
I am happy to tutor students of any ability level what I look for in a student, is a willingness to work independently between sessions. I only offer tuition if I feel that there is a realistic prospect of success this will only be the case if the tutee is willing to put the hours in too!
Yes I use analogy and I present theory in a way that the student can understand and relate to, but success also requires some degree of common sense and the confidence to use it.
