I am a qualified Primary School Teacher, dedicated to improving students' self-esteem and confidence within what is fast becoming a highly challenging primary curriculum. I am a B.Sc. (Hons.) Graduate from The University of Birmingham and have worked in the Education sector for over ten years.
I have taught all year groups within the Primary age range (Foundation Stage to Year 6) and have been named as a lead practitioner in pace and engagement of delivery. As a primary teacher my subject knowledge across the curriculum is very good and I am strongly aware of the content demands of the current curriculum.
Learning is about providing oneself with an arsenal of tools to handle problems you don't know how to solve. I strongly emphasise conceptual understanding as opposed to giving lists of instructions. My ethos is about building confidence and understanding of the foundations of a subject, ensuring that students have an increased depth of knowledge within an area of learning. I believe strongly that a good understanding of these concepts will stand a student in excellent stead for tackling any problem that lies ahead of them with confidence.
