If you have struggled with chemistry courses, please look into private tutoring. I have a PhD in Chemistry with extensive teaching (and research) experience. Teaching chemistry has been my passion and I have been involved with it since 1990. I have taught GCSE, A-Levels and degree level students since 1991 across all boards.

Tutoring Experience

Extensive teaching experience at A-levels and undergraduate levels, at Durham University and abroad. I have been a tutor for the core 1A organic chemistry course at Durham University for two groups of six undergraduate students in each group. Prior to that, I have been a lecturer in India, and I undertook extensive teaching of Organic Chemistry to First, Second- and Third-year BSc students. I have also provided personal tuition for several GSCE & A-level (high school) students in chemistry to support my further education (BSc & MSc).

Here is a reference from a past student who was at Max Planck Institute for Cell Biology and Genetics, Germany.

Dr Shashi Pandya taught a class of about 100 students with enthusiasm and emphasized a fundamental understanding of the phenomenon. She taught with complete focus and a determination that was sometimes bewildering for its resilience. I do not think I could have ever learnt better Organic Chemistry from anyone else. She encouraged students to their maximum capacity. She recognised each student’s capacity and need and tried her best to offer a personalized method to bring the best out of them.
In retrospect, she has been one of the important persons in my life who made me a better student and scientist. I have been fortunate to have had her as my teacher in the early years of my scientific career. I believe she is a very friendly, methodological and hard-working teacher whom you can trust to make your strides larger in a scientific career.

Tutoring Approach

I make students learn chemistry in a way that not only improves grades but helps them to master learning techniques. I tailor my sessions according to the student's pace of learning. My approach is very personalised and simplified. I can help the student to build confidence and handle the subject with less stress. We will work together for a better understanding of the subject, which can help to improve grades. My past students have reported improvement of two grade levels upwards.
